Help shape the mobile app, backend, product systems and technical foundation.
Détour is creating a new kind of social discovery—built around real places, shared moments, and the possibility of meeting naturally.
We are independent, self-funded, and still early. That means the people who contribute now can meaningfully shape the product, the company, and the community around it.
Self-funded and built with a long-term view.
Already in users’ hands and improving continuously.
Small enough for meaningful ownership and direct impact.
Détour is currently self-funded, and these are not salaried positions.
We are inviting a small number of contributors to help build the company at an early stage. Depending on the role, the arrangement may be volunteer-based or may lead to future compensation or equity discussions as the company develops. Nothing is implied or guaranteed.
We want this to be clear from the beginning so that anyone who applies understands where we are today.
Help shape the mobile app, backend, product systems and technical foundation.
Represent Détour in your university community and help create authentic local momentum.
Support fundraising research, grants, partnerships, investor outreach and company operations.
Not a pitch-deck concept.
Work closely with the product and influence real decisions.
Help make social discovery feel more local, spontaneous and human.
Tell us who you are and how you would like to contribute.
Have a relaxed discussion about the role, the project and expectations.
If there is a mutual fit, agree on scope, commitment and a practical way to begin.
Tell us a little about yourself and how you would like to contribute. Every application is reviewed personally. You can also email careers@joindetour.me.
Building Détour is an attempt to make meeting people feel human again.
Détour began with a simple frustration: meeting people online had started to feel less human, not more.
I wanted to build something rooted in real moments—what people are doing, where life is happening, and the possibility of connecting naturally rather than evaluating another static profile.
The product is still early, but it is real. I am looking for a few thoughtful people who believe in that idea and want to help shape what comes next.
This is not a conventional job opportunity today. It is an invitation to contribute at the beginning, take meaningful ownership, and help build Détour with care.
